The short answer
Whole-boat rates, deposit-confirmed
Riley Phinisi is chartered as a whole boat. Rates run by duration and guest count, and a 50% deposit confirms the date with the balance due 30 days before departure.
You are not booking a cabin — you are booking the vessel, her crew and the route. Ten guests pay the same as two for the same itinerary, which is what makes Riley work for families and small groups taking the boat together.
The tables below are the published rates held by the operator. Park entry, ranger and activity fees are paid separately in cash on the day.

From enquiry to boarding

Message the reservations desk with your dates, guest count, preferred duration and anything we should know — dietary needs, an anniversary, whether anyone dives.

03Step three
Confirm with a 50% deposit
A 50% deposit holds the boat for your dates. The balance falls due 30 days before departure. Cabins are assigned once we know who is travelling with whom.

04Step four
Board in Labuan Bajo
We collect you from your hotel in Labuan Bajo and you board at 11:00 WITA on day one. Arrive the day before — flights into LBJ are weather-sensitive.

The conditions in plain language

Cancellation
Cancellations inside 30 days of departure are non-refundable. Outside that window, talk to us — we would rather move a date than lose a guest.

Force majeure
No refund for natural disasters, severe weather or illness. This is standard for liveaboards in the region; travel insurance covers it.

Substitutions
You may nominate a substitute guest if you can no longer travel. Tell us before departure so we can update the manifest.

Route changes
The captain may modify the itinerary for weather and sea conditions. Safety comes before the stop list, always.

Park fees
Komodo National Park entrance, ranger and activity fees are paid separately, in cash, per person. Current amounts are confirmed at booking.
Booking
Questions before you commit
Is the rate per person or per boat?
Per boat. The figure in the table is what the whole charter costs for that duration, for a group in that size band.
How far ahead should we book?
For peak months — July, August and the Christmas–New Year window — a season ahead is normal. Outside those, a few months is usually enough. Riley is a single vessel, so a date once taken is gone.
How do we pay?
Bank transfer for the deposit and the balance. The reservations desk sends the account details with your written quote.
Can we hold a date before paying?
We can hold provisionally for a short window while you confirm flights. Tell us what you need — nothing is charged until you say so.
What happens if the weather turns?
The captain reroutes. Komodo has sheltered water in most conditions, so trips very rarely cancel outright — the stop order changes instead.
Do you book flights or hotels?
Not directly, but the reservations desk will tell you which flights land in time and which Labuan Bajo hotels we collect from. Arrive a day early.
